Kale Chips

Now to most people eating their greens is hard work, for some reason people shy away from things that involve the word 'leaves' or look like they've just been picked from your garden. However, there are so many varieties of different greens and Kale is one of the best for you- people call it a 'super food'.
It's a member of the cabbage family (which again puts people off) but it tastes nothing like cabbage in my opinion.

There are many ways to cook Kale, boil it, combine with a stew or stir fry, but my personal favorite is to make Kale chips!

Kale Chips:

  • Kale (unwashed)
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Spices (You choose)
  • Oil

Preheat the oven to about 200 degrees.

This is the simplest thing to do, and its a great alternative if you're craving something on the cripsy side (a pack of Walkers perhaps...)

Get a handful of Kale (or however much you feel appropriate) drop it on to a baking tray sprinkle it with a drizzle of oil (olive is the best), then sprinkle with salt/pepper and spices of your choice. If you don't fancy spices then don't, its completely your choice and your taste preferences! The oil is just for the crispy side but it will still crisp up without it.

Put in the oven for about 3-4 minutes, no longer or they will burn to a crisp (I learnt from experience)

Tah Dah, you have your own Kale chips!

They taste wonderful, even people I know who don't like their vegetables loved them.

Try something new today! Go on you know you want too!
